The new Gilbert Magazine has arrived. They were behind schedule for awhile due to illness (the child of one of the key players was very sick), but they seem to have cranked out these last two quickly.
This issue revolves around the 25th Annual ACS Conference. Over 500 people attended. The first ACS Conference brought in twelve.
I've never ordered tapes from the conference, but I'm going to this time. I want to hear John Peterson's presentation about McLuhan and Chesterton. John is one of the most intelligent yet unpretentious individuals I've ever met. His quiet demeanor is a perfect yin to his forceful prose. He's also the guy who turned me onto McLuhan, thereby opening a whole new avenue of thought for me.

OK, this isnt funny anymore. I always get my issue last out of everybody here.
Don't feel badly Kyro I don't have mine yet, either.
:-(
That's one of the main reasons I do "New Gilbert is Here" posts: just to frustrate everyone else. (smile)
My box of freebies arrived last night. :-D (yes, even the editor gets excited when his new Gilberts arrive.)
Kyro, Mine always comes very late too. I figure it's one of the prices I pay for living in Vermont. It takes so long for mail to creep it's way up to this part of the country.
I, too, wait. Given the past record, I suspect I won't get it until some time next week.
Maybe we should put in a rule about delaying discusion until everyone has it.
Or maybe we should just throttle Eric!
